Access — Changelog

All notable changes to this pack are recorded here.
The format follows Keep a Changelog and the pack follows Semantic Versioning.
The version below must always match the one declared in Runtime/AssemblyInfo.cs — that
is the version the FOS Hub shows, and the one the Hub compares against the installed Core.
[1.0.1] — 2026-08-22
Section titled “[1.0.1] — 2026-08-22”- The manual is now delivered in German, Spanish and French as well as English. The editor tools already spoke four languages; the documentation that explains them did not.
Nothing yet.
1.0.0 — 2026-08-21
Section titled “1.0.0 — 2026-08-21”First release. Requires FOS Essentials Core 1.0.0.
Components
FOSAccessList— holds the sources and answers “does the local player hold the key?”.FOSAccessGate— shows or hides objects depending on that answer, optionally inverted.
Sources
- A list of display names in the inspector: shipped with the world, answers instantly, works with no network at all.
- A list downloaded from a URL: edited without publishing the world again. Blank lines
and
#comments are ignored, so the file can be annotated. - A VRChat Economy product: owning it grants access, list or no list.
- The instance master, optionally, so the world owner is never locked out.
The four are cumulative — any single one granting access is enough. The common case is a list in the inspector plus a remote one, and nothing forces a choice between them.
Answering honestly while loading
FOSIsResolved()separates “not on the list” from “the list has not arrived yet”. A yes is final immediately, since a further source can only ever add people; a no waits for the download. An interface can then say which of the two it is, instead of looking broken.- A gate decides for itself what to show while a list is still in flight.
Editor
- Import and export the inspector list, in the same one-name-per-line format as the remote list. A list built in the inspector can be exported and hosted as is, and a file already online can be pulled back into the prefab.
- The inspector says when nothing is filled in, the case where nobody will ever hold the key and where no error would otherwise be raised, and counts the names that are actually usable — an empty slot in the array is not one.
- The gate refuses to be its own target. Hiding itself would stop the behaviour from running, so it would never receive the answer meant to bring it back: the object would stay dark until the world restarted, with nothing to explain why. The inspector reports it instead.
- Inspector labels, sections and messages translated into English, French, Spanish and German.
This tidies a world, it does not protect it. The answer is computed on the player’s own client and a remote list is public to anyone who finds its URL. Udon offers no server-side check to appeal to, and the README says so in as many words.
